Operations Manager

Job Summary:

Plan, organize and develop programs that will meet the principles and goals of the organization. Directs the day-to-day operations of the shelter, within the framework of policy established by the Effingham County Humane Society Board of Directors. The Operations Manager shall be accountable to the Executive Committee in any matters not previously authorized by the Board. Duties may be delegated to other staff members, or volunteers, but the Operations Manager will be responsible for their accomplishments.

Requirements:

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree preferable: or a minimum of five years of animal welfare/shelter experience: passion/dedication to animal welfare. Must have computer knowledge, with experience in MS Word and Excel. Outstanding communications and organizational skills. Strong presentation, public speaking and community relation experience. Basic animal care knowledge preferred. Knowledge of domestic animals including breeds, behavior, appropriate care and housing, common health problems, disease symptoms and handling techniques.

Hours:

Monday, Wednesday-Friday 10am-5pm, 1 Saturday a month 10am-4pm
